Orange County Fire Rescue to Receive $20,000 Grant at IAAPA Expo

Orange County FL: Orange County District 6 Commissioner Tiffany Moore Russell and Fire Chief Carl L. Plaugher will receive a grant for $20,000 at the Orange County Convention Center Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.  The check presentation ceremony will be held at the Ninja Jump exhibit, North Concourse, Booth 2178.

The grant is being given to Orange County Fire Rescue by the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, Ninja Jump, and the Inflatable Industry Purchasing Group.  These organizations build and insure inflatable bounce houses.

The presentation will take place as part of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo.  Orange County Fire Rescue was identified to receive this grant because the agency serves many world premiere attractions and amusement parks.

The funds will go to innovative programs to enhance Fire Rescue’s ability to communicate with citizens and visitors who do not speak English.  13% of Orange County’s residents have identified themselves as not fluent in English.  Additionally, Orange County welcomes visitors from around the world.  Emergency responders need a way to communicate with citizens and visitors during their time of need.
