Mayor Crotty fuels up at the County's New Ethanol Station

Mayor Crotty taps off one of the new Flex Fuel Vans.

David Roussel, Fleet Manager shows Mayor Crotty the display of county vehicles utilizing the new fuel option.

The Orange County Project teams joins Mayor Crotty for the ceremony.

The station will service a growing number of county vehicles that use the new fuel option.  Orange County utilizes 92 Flex Fuel vehicles in our fleet and 31 Hybrids and continues to grow.
E-85 is a blended fuel that is 85% Ethanol; a re-newable fuel made from corn grown right here in the USA and is good for the environment.

Nationally, the price of E-85 is 15-20% less than unleaded gas.  Mayor Crotty stated, "We're not quite there yet but we expect that to improve as the supply increases in our area."

The new station is part of Mayor Crotty's Orange to Green initiative that marked the beginning of a strategy to place Orange County in the forefront of the world-wide movement to reduce greenhouse gases.
