The Final Design Phase of the project has begun. Over the next 18 months, construction plans for the East West Road will be provided to Orange County at the 30%, 60%, 90%, 100% and final stages of completion. The design is scheduled to be completed by January, 2006.

Orange County has initiated the acquisition of some of the right-of-way that will be needed for the East West Road where early acquisition was feasible. Beginning in 2005, and continuing through 2007, Orange County will acquire the remainder of the right-of-way for the East West Road.

Construction will begin at a future date to be determined. The estimated cost of construction was approximately $10 million in 2001 dollars.
