Accessory structures are detached. They are subordinate and incidental to the principal use (house). They are smaller in size and height than the house on-site. The house must exist on-site before permits can be issued for an accessory structure. Examples include, sheds, barns, pools, gazebos, spas, basketball and tennis courts, etc. Submission requirements include site plans drawn by a certified professional and construction plans drawn by a licensed contractor. Lakefront properties must show normal high water elevation. Processing time: 2 days.
Construction plans are required to be prepared by a Florida licensed architect or engineer. Contractors cannot do it!!
