Insurance & Contracts

Risk Management is also responsible for the purchase of various insurance policies to protect County assets (people and property). Additionally, the division supplies the appropriate contractual language to contracts utilized by other County departments.

When applicable, we coordinate, evaluate and purchase:

Property insurance for all County buildings, furniture, fixtures and equipment
Workers' compensation
Boiler and machinery insurance
General liability coverage
Environmental liability and on-site cleanup provided by contractor(s)
Commercial crime covering employee dishonesty claims and theft of money
Elected officials' bond
Tenant user liability insurance program
Certificates of insurance

Contract Review

The division also reviews the following for appropriate insurance language and coverage:

Lease agreements
Land use agreements
Real estate purchase agreements
Service agreements
Facility-use agreements

Risk Financing

Actuarial review
Loss reserves
Cost allocation
