Storage Tank Compliance Program

This program inspects all regulated facilities to ensure they install, operate, maintain, and close tanks systems in accordance with State rules, Chapter 62-761 and 62-762, Florida Administrative Code, Storage Tank Systems.  Types of inspections include annual compliance, tank closures and installations, discharges, and complaints.  When necessary, the Program initiates enforcement actions on facilities found to be out of compliance.

Petroleum Cleanup Program

This program oversees the assessment and cleanup of petroleum contaminated sites. At sites eligible for state-funding assistance, this section not only maintains technical oversight, but it also actively directs site cleanup, including negotiating the effort and costs with private contractors.
Home Heating Oil Removal and Abandonment Program

The Orange County's Home Heating Oil Tank Removal and Abandonment (HHOT) Program ended  September 30, 2007. This program was under the funding of the Residents and Neighborhood Empowerment to Win (ReNew) Program. It's intention was to assist homeowners with the cost of closing (removal or abandonment) of home heating oil tanks and the disposal of the heating oil residual, which often remains when homeowners convert their homes to an all electric heating and cooling system.  Homeowners whose applications are still outstanding can contact  Mark Naughton, Program Coordinator, Environmental Protection Division, 800 Mercy Drive, Suite 4, Orlando, FL 32808,  (407) 836 – 1400.
